UBAEC exists to make circuit-protection knowledge easier to use in real engineering and sourcing work.
Our Mission
We organize fragmented component terminology, parameters, application notes and selection logic into a clear path from a protection problem to a testable component decision.
Our Editorial Principles
- Explain before recommending. We define the protection problem, operating conditions and test waveform before discussing a device.
- Keep conditions visible. Voltage, current, pulse shape, temperature, tolerance and qualification requirements are not interchangeable.
- Distinguish product forms. MLVs, molded SMD MOVs and through-hole MOVs may share varistor behavior but differ in construction, ratings and applications.
- Use primary technical sources. Standards and manufacturer documentation take priority over copied catalog descriptions.
- Connect knowledge to action. Every core guide should help a reader compare options, identify missing data or prepare the next validation step.
What UBAEC Is Not
UBAEC is not an open social network, a public message board or a marketplace where anyone can publish product claims. Questions submitted through Ask UBAEC are handled privately.
