How to Read the Map
- Current official evidence: an official manufacturer page or document supported an active/current family at the review date.
- Current with conditions: useful official evidence exists, but construction, revision, qualification, regional availability or exact family scope needs confirmation.
- Historical or audited absence: historical product evidence exists, or the current site was checked without finding an equivalent current family. Absence is not a formal blanket EOL notice.
Every exact selection still requires the current order-code datasheet, revision, lifecycle, test conditions and supplier confirmation.

Historical or Lifecycle-Boundary Evidence
TAIYO YUDEN and Murata have historical MLV-related evidence in the research corpus. The current-site audit did not establish an equivalent current family at the review date. This is an audited absence, not a claim that every former order code is formally discontinued. A blanket EOL statement requires an official model/family PCN or lifecycle notice.
Companies Not Promoted as Current MLV Manufacturers
Some targeted searches returned disc MOV, molded MOV, TMOV, distributor-only, archival or ambiguous evidence rather than a verified current ordinary MLV family. These search decisions do not claim that a company has never made an MLV. New primary evidence can reopen the classification.
How to Verify a Manufacturer Family
- Use the manufacturer’s canonical product domain.
- Confirm construction, family and exact order code.
- Check document revision and access date.
- Keep translations and regional pages attached to one technical canonical.
- Verify VDC/VAC, Vvar/current, Vc/current/waveform, Imax/energy, capacitance, leakage and temperature under original conditions.
- Confirm qualification and lifecycle for the exact part.
- Validate the actual application and PCB.
